CHURCH PLANTING AND MOBILIZING IN MEXICO
Bethany missionaries in Mexico are working both to establish the church where it hasn’t taken root within Mexico and to mobilize missionaries to be sent to the least-reached peoples of the world.
Lowell and Sheri Glick:
“Because the state of Mexico where we live is one of the least reached areas in the country, we have a new plan to raise up 15 workers and reach 50 towns or villages-called 15-50 Vision.” A five-minute radio program with a song and a short devotional has been launched. Weekly a booklet or literature is offered free upon request; personal follow up with these seekers is planned. Seekers will receive evangelism and discipleship as the Glicks and national workers travel out to their villages. Study groups will be started with clusters of new believers with the goal of establishing 50 churches. Prayer and recruiting are ongoing for 15 national workers who own this vision.
There are 1,000 villages in Zacatecas which have no churches established!
“In several places we are seeing hunger to know more of God’s message.”
Kerry and Jan Olson:
Sending 100 missionaries during the next ten years…. It’s possible! This is a new goal of our large congregation here in Mexico. However, the vision of training, sending and supporting 100 missionaries is not the primary focus. We do not want to fall into the trap of “sending just to send”. Our emphasis is not on the quantity, but rather quality. Quality with regard to two areas: obviously, the type of workers we send, but just as important is the location these workers will be placed, primarily among the least-reached peoples of the world, who have little or no chance to hear the Gospel.

“We consider it a tremendous blessing to be a part of what God is doing in Mexico and around the world.”
